CARE INSTRUCTIONS

ABOUT YOUR ARTWORK

This limited edition print is a Giclée on heavyweight 395gsm matte Canson Infinity PhotoArt ProCanvas, created with long-lasting Epson archival inks. We don’t mean to brag, but this is the highest standard of colour accuracy in art reproduction.

Once printed, the canvas was then carefully hand-stretched over FSC-certified, finger-jointed New Zealand pine and set in a float frame of stained FSC-certified Meranti.

Every step of this process is completed here in Australia.

GENERAL CARE

Although printed with archival Epson pigment inks (tested to last 75–100+ years indoors), prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can still cause fading. Your artwork is best hung or stored in a stable, consistent environment. Light, humidity, and temperature all have an impact on both the frame and canvas. For maximum longevity, be mindful of the below:

LIGHT EXPOSURE

Ultraviolet (UV) light accelerates fading and deterioration. It is best practice to limit light exposure wherever possible and to avoid direct sunlight entirely. Pay special attention to walls that receive inconsistent sunlight, as uneven exposure can create visible fading patterns over time.

HUMIDITY & TEMPERATURE

Keep artwork away from fluctuating humidity and temperature. Ideal display conditions are 18–24°C (65–75°F) with 40–60% relative humidity (40–50% preferred for long-term care). Avoid heat sources such as radiators, fireplaces, and air vents, as well as damp environments like bathrooms and kitchens.

ADDITIONAL PROTECTION

Since your artwork is in a float frame, glazing isn’t required. However, for added longevity, you may wish to consult a framer about applying a UV-protective varnish for Giclée canvas or fitting the frame with UV-protective acrylic.

With proper care, your canvas will retain its colour and quality for a lifetime and beyond.

HANDLING

Your artwork has been lovingly hand-finished by experts, and we encourage you to handle it with the same care. The following guidelines will help ensure it reaches your wall safely and remains in excellent condition for years to come:

  • When handling, please wear the provided gloves and avoid touching the canvas directly — matte canvas is prone to smudges.
  • Always carry and lift the artwork by the float frame, using both hands. Hold the sides of the frame (never the top bar) and avoid placing fingers or thumbs against the canvas surface.
  • Keep the canvas upright and avoid twisting, flexing, or placing pressure on the surface.
  • If placing the artwork down temporarily, keep it upright on a clean, soft surface and never lean it face-first against walls or objects, as this can mark or dent the canvas.
  • To remove dust, use a soft, dry feather duster. Be gentle and do not rub or apply pressure to the canvas surface. Never use cleaning sprays, water, or solvents.
  • Do not attempt to re-stretch or adjust the canvas yourself; consult a professional framer if needed.

If storing:

  • Store upright, covered with acid-free paper or cotton sheeting.
  • Avoid damp basements, hot attics, or areas with fluctuating humidity.
  • Do not stack other artworks or objects against the canvas surface.
